a nurturing, judgement-free doula practice
Doula Services in Utah County & Salt Lake County
Birth is powerful, and so are you. As your doula, I’m here to walk beside you — offering knowledge, advocacy, and heartfelt support as you make the choices that feel best for you and your family. I believe education empowers, and that every parent deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their prenatal, birth, and postpartum experiences.
Meet Ashlee.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Think of a doula as the person who fuels the fire so the two of you can simply stay warm. Your partner knows your heart, but your doula knows the map of labor. By handling the logistics—refilling the water, suggesting a new position, or reassuring your partner that "this is normal"—the doula actually creates a protective bubble that allows you and your partner to connect more deeply, without either of you having to be the "expert."
-
Support is not a "reward" for a drug-free birth—it is a human right for every birth. If you choose an epidural, your doula's role simply shifts. We become the keepers of your physical comfort while you are restricted to bed, helping with "passive" positioning to keep your pelvis open. We stay by your side to ensure your emotional needs are met and your voice is heard when the room gets busy with medical staff.
-
We become your anchor. When the waves of labor feel overwhelming, a doula offers a steady gaze, a rhythmic breath to follow, and a hand that doesn't let go. We use touch, aromatherapy, or simple, grounding words to remind you of your own strength. We don’t "take away" the intensity; we help you find the rhythm within it so you don't feel lost.
-
A doula is a mirror, not a megaphone. Our goal is never to speak for you, but to make sure you have the space and information to speak for yourself. If a medical intervention is proposed, we might gently suggest asking, "Can we have 10 minutes of privacy to discuss this?" We help you filter out the noise so you can listen to your own intuition.
-
Our journey begins long before the hospital doors. Usually, we are in touch the moment you feel "different." We provide phone support during those early, fluttering stages of labor at home, and then we join you physically whenever you feel you need that extra layer of soul-support—whether that’s in your living room or at the birth center. We are the first ones in and the last ones to leave.
-
It’s all about the "exhale." When you sit across from a doula and share your hopes or fears, do you feel your shoulders drop? Do you feel like you can be your raw, unfiltered self without judgment? Technical skills can be learned, but the "click" of safety and trust is something you feel in your gut. Trust that feeling—it’s your first lesson in parental intuition.
